Tiger Stripe Removal

Tiger stripe removal is a power washing service that can be done for an additional fee as it takes a significant amount of time and is not included in the typical power wash. A regular power wash of a house will include washing the gutters with water to get rid of the dirt, but these pesky black lines require extra attention and specific chemicals in order to remove.

 

What Causes the Black Stripes?

 

Tiger stripes are indirectly caused by clogged gutters. When the gutters are clogged, rainwater collects in the gutters and will eventually spill over the sides. When this happens, the water will be dirty from whatever debris was in the gutter and it will stain the outsides of the gutters as it trickles down.

 

How They Are Removed

 

Many customers tell me that when they try to power wash the gutters themselves they can’t get rid of these black lines. This is because they cannot be removed by a power washer with just water or even with typical power washing chemicals. In order to remove them, they need bleach as well as a surfactant specifically designed for gutters. Since we need to use bleach, we will make sure to protect the plants by hosing them down with water before and after.
