What Does the Customer Need to Do Before the Job?

Brad Forrest, Owner

As the business owner, I typically get asked by customers if they need to do anything before the job or if they need to be home when I’m working.

The only thing they have to do regardless of the job type (window washing, power washing, or gutter cleaning) is to make sure that the water is turned on.

For power washing jobs, they should make sure that the windows are closed so that no water accidentally gets sprayed inside. For window-washing jobs, they may need to take the screens out themselves, but this will be communicated with them beforehand because it is an additional fee if the company needs to take them out. For gutter cleaning, there is nothing else the customer needs to do other than to make sure that the water is turned on.

In terms of whether they need to be home when I’m working, they typically don’t need to be. However, when it comes to window washing, there may be a need for me to get inside of the house (either to take the screens out or to wash the inside windows). If this is the case, then they’ll most likely need to be home to let the company into their house.
